Help with kitchen corner, pls!

Ideas on how to fill voided area in kitchen corner (lower left on floor plan)? Or leave as is?

Was there a reason you decided not to turn the corner with cabinets and countertop so you have a continuous look? You would have to change the location of the ovens, but that could be a good idea anyway. Lining the island up with the stovetop seems to be driving the design. I'm going to let kitchen experts weigh in on other options. The way you have it the sink seems isolated. What are the dimensions from the island to the stove and the island to the sink?

It seems like this entire kitchen design could use significant work.

I would definitely do an L-shape kitchen. Are you going to have some kind of table behind the island or is that just open space? I agree that this design needs help.

Rangetop is centered on the island and overhead beams. Could move ovens to range wall to create a continuous L-shape. Also considering adding a prep sink on island.

Are the beams existing or is this new construction?

    ^New construction.

If this is new construction there is no reason that your design can’t be significantly better.

At a bare minimum, I would swap the wall oven and the fridge. Lots of dishes involve cooktop to oven transfer. And food prep is usually fridge to sink. Alternatively, swap the the pantry and the ovens, and add a prep sink on the island. But really, this should be redesigned. That awkward void space, unfortunately small patches of countertop on each side of the cooktop. Focus on functional layout, not symmetrical appearance.

If the beams stay where they are, having the range and island centered on them would be very important to me. If you can't do an L and keep that symmetry, you could move the fridge to where the coffee bar is, put the ovens where the fridge is and the coffee bar where the ovens are. I had an empty space like that in my last kitchen and I liked it(I don't like corners). I kept my kik step there.

What is planned for the space behind the island? It looks rather large and empty, but too small for a dining table. Could shallow pantry cabinets go on that back wall so you could get more workspace beside your cooktop?

^That wall is the entry/foyer wall. Range needs to stay centered based on current design (see rough rendering). Open to swapping ovens with pantry. Pantry could turn into a larger corner unit possibly... or the empty area in the corner can be a space for a piece of art or a decorative wine rack or something.

It’s just such a bad plan for a new build. The curved island, lack of L shape and poorly laid out appliances. Why don’t you engage a kitchen designer to support you and save this before it’s too late to make changes

@sjb8456 Have you been on the new build forum? It might be worth your while to post your entire floor plan over there. I didn't discover it until too late which is sad for me because there are several things I don't like about my beach house design that I know they would have flagged. One caveat, you need thick skin to post over there. The folks there are very knowledgable but the kitchen forum is warm and fuzzy in comparison.

The least change I can come up with...put the ovens where the fridge is, put the fridge smack against the oven cabinet, and fill in the remaining space by wrapping the lower wall cabinetry around the corner to meet the fridge cab.

Still leaves the range area crowded.

I suggest lining up 5 stools in a curve like that and see if you can really get them that close and still be able to sit comfortably in them.

As @Fori mentioned, those stools probably won't fit as drawn. If those dotted lines indicate the base cabinets, you don't have enough overhang either....maybe square up the island and put a stool on the end?
