Great design of glass wall door. My questions:
1) who makes these sliding wall systems
2) can this type of wall system be installed in an existing
wall with Arcadia doors to enlarge view. We have
height and width.
3) What is the approximate cost--ball park.

Hi + Thanks. I love these doors. There are some tricks to be aware of, not hte least of which is you need to plan for a pretty long lead time and be prepared to really stay on top of the shop drawings but the operate beautifully, hold up well, have a great solid feel in the hand and I use them whenever I can.
1: The sliding doors are made by Fleetwood. The can be set in line and operate like typical sliding glass doors and or as done here and set on a long track so that when open, the slide completely out of the way. For this house - where all four examples ( stupidly not shown closed in any shots) slide on the outside of the building walls and or ported into built out housings. 2: Do you have the Arcadia doors framed in like a store front system - if so adn your idea is to figure out some kind of connection detail between the Fleetwood frame and the Arcadia system -- maybe the best bet would be to contact the tech services dept at Fleetwood ( I think it is an LA or other sourthern CA number) and send them a detail of your condition and work it through with them. I haven't done what you are describing myself so can't advise specifically.
3: Ok so there were 5 sets of these doors in this house. Four of the sets were 10 feet tall and the fifth set, on the second floor was 7'-6". The doors in the middle of this shot are 3 panels for the doors + a 2 panel screen, clear opening of 12'-0". The doors on the right have one single 8'-0" wide panel + screen on the far right and they close at the corner into a 3 panel door + 3 panel screen that is +/- 11'-6" wide overall. At the kitchen there are two doors/screens with a clear opening of 10-0".The last unit has an assymetrical 2 panel door/screen breakup with an over all width of 9'-0". Ok so in 2010 dollars, which is when these were installed the installed bid for all five doors, exclusive of the framing of the exterior housings w

Hi- How wide is this hallway? I have only 29 inches of space to put in a hall 5 feet long to a back bedroom- with no exterior light- how can it look big?

The sliding exterior doors run over the exterior
Wall and slide into a pocket built to the outside.
They don't require the pocket. Since the doors
Open up so much of this hall, where they sit
The hall is effectively widened further by the
Thickness of the exterior wall - which makes it

PlyGem makes a 12' & 15' pocket slider for a mere $1500. My husband is a home builder and uses them in many of his homes.

I wanted to chime in to share some good news that our lead time is down to 6 weeks if ordering clear or dark bronze finish for these doors. Also, pricing should be lower then the $1000/sq ft based on what options you want to add or take off. Everything is custom made so we can be in any price range that fits your design. It's always a balance act between what options you want and what price you want. But for this size you see it will be more then the $1500. Also, to note, we have a lifetime warranty on the parts and components and in 50 years and your door doesn't work, that's when you want to have this warranty that no other company will give. Hope that helps.
