last modified: 3 years ago

Hello everyone,

I want to divide or separate my living room from the bedroom. I was thinking about using some doors, but I have no idea how to hang them or where to buy the hardware. I did find a picture on the internet, similar to what I'm going for.

Please, could anyone point me in the right direction. I'm would greatly appreciate any advice or help.

Sorry, I'm having issues load picture on Phone:

Do you have any photos you can share so everyone can advise you to the best of their ability? A floor plan image would also work. It is hard to plan a space when you cannot see it. Thanks, looking forward to seeing your photos!

    Thanks for the image!

Do they need to be moveable or do you want them to be stationary? The image you shared above appears to be stationary panels rather than a sliding or moving door.

If you have a local contractor or woodworker/carpenter in your area it might be best to call around and see if anyone is able to do what you need them to. If you need them to be operational, it will most likely require a track mounted along a wall or on the floor. If there is a cased opening already in place, they should be able to run a rail along the wall above the opening and trim. If it is an open space, you will need to install something to support the weight of the door.

You could also try a Lowe's or Home Depot? I am unsure how custom these companies get, but it couldn't hurt to ask! It would be best to get advice from a professional and have it installed by a professional. It is also possible to DIY if you have the time and tools necessary!

They need to be stationarystationary. Have been to both homedepot and lowes looking for hardware unsuccessful. Trying to figure out hardware to use.

Could curtains work instead of doors? it would be a much simpler DIY with the curtain rod attached to the ceiling

We need to see your space and get a bit more info. I just rearead your reply so why do they need to be staionary?

Here is the layout of the room. I just need more wall space. The wall in the middle is where i want to place the divider, so the Bedroom would have some privacy without actually building a wall. I already have the doors, just trying to figure out what they using to install them. Are the just using furniture feet?
