Can you please clarify exactly whom you are withholding money from? From your original post, there are 2 or 3 people involved that aren't coming through for you: 1) the countertop fabricator who messed up the sink install; 2) the contractor who installed the damaged cabinets and plate rack; 3) the kitchen designer who is overseeing things, and who presumably ordered the cabinets. Not clear to me whether the contractor and the designer are the same person or different people.

w the fabricator he had me deal w it. and that was not fun!

That is (limited) good news then. The KD is the one who should be responsible, as well as the person you owe. Designer's Consortium advice above looks great. Your KD is not doing his job at all for you. Lots of sympathy.

Cabinet, countertop, and tile are specifically exempted from Florida's otherwise strict contractor licensing laws. There will be no liens, believe me.

In writing, give him a reasonable time to fix things. If he doesn't do the repairs, hire them done, deduct the cost of the repairs from the balance owed, and send him any balance.

he also left my walls like this. his guy removed the cabinets and installed new. it’s just odd to me that prepping the walls for paint isn’t part of that but i could be wrong.
the last couple of pics show where they removed a half wall and it’s all crooked and look alike there no corner bead in that area. i’ll definitely have to hire someone to fix. looks worse in person.

It's difficult to impliment and enforce liens for contractors. So much so that's it's rarely worth the fight.

Whoa, that wall looks wonky!

I hope that your fridge is not going in the open space that is in between the cabinets and that crooked wall in the second picture, unless it is one of those high end fully integrated refrigerators.

I say that because a normal fridge needs a decent size spacer between it and any side wall for the fridge door to open all the way to get crisper bins out to clean. You would have to pull the fridge forward and clear the wall to do so. It will constantly bang against the wall too.

Good news though is that your cabinets and the blue color are super pretty! And it looks so nice with the floor, black hardware, and quartzite countertop.

the floors are another issue! they’re actually very old dilapidated vinyl tile and he just went over them instead of offering the foresight of removing them prior to install of new floor. he was supposed to get me a flooring estimate too but needless to say, i didn’t persue!

i actually had my new GC meet with the counter guy who yelled at him. so much for professionalism! ha guess he felt threatened by someone who knows what he's talking about
