Can you give us more info on what they are wanting to do (refresh? full renovation?) and also how they use those spaces? Is that entrance only for guests or is that the primary way the homeowners enter too? Do they want a sitting area in that other non-entrance courtyard?

The first thing i’d do for sure is remove that bulky furniture from the pathway to the front door, unless they want to discourage guests from using that door (such as if they are trying to direct guests to use a different entrance).
