Flooring advice

Hi!

I have attached a photo showing the linoleum that needs replacing. We bought this house and are slowing working through renos. The lighter hardwood has been refinished with damage that I am hoping a transition piece will cover. This linoleum goes towards the right(into the pantry) and towards the left (into the bathroom and that floor butts up against chocolate brown 12x12 ceramic tiles that are in a room already renoed). I am thinking vinyl tile. Unsure which colour or the size of tile. Whats your thoughts?

When was that seamless flooring installed? Older flooring like that often contained a significant amount of asbestos.

@kudzu9 That is linoleum sheet - I believe there since late 90s. We have already removed it from another area - no asbestos as far as we know just the standard sheet flooring.

What kind of flooring is underneath the vinyl? Maybe hardwood?

I would continue the hardwood thru that passage area...installing it if there isn't hardwood there already.

The bathroom should be something different--more vinyl or tile. Either continue the hardwood into the pantry (preferably) or use the same flooring in there as whatever you choose for the bathroom.

It really should be wood to match or the same brown tile - 3 flooring changes in such a small space is to be avoided.
