Need help with bed pillows

I’m attaching a photo of my king size bed right now. I will be switching to a different slightly thicker quilt set (same color) that will have my two king white sleeping pillows in back, two standard sham pillows (beige) in front, and I need an idea for ONE pillow for in front of the standards shams. Could be a lumbar pillow, roll, etc. I was looking at a 14x36 size which I believe might be what I have now in front of my king shams in the pic. I don’t want euro shams and I don’t want any more pillows than described above. Any recommendations? Size, color, type of pillow? I hate this. LOL

It looks like there is purple in the artwork over the bed so see if you can incorporate that color in the front pillow.

It’s a grey/blue color in the artwork. I’ve tried, but I have a tough time getting away from the charcoal color when it’s just the one pillow

This is the new quilt set I’m getting, but instead of king size shams it will have standard shams. They don’t make king size ones for it.

Go to Dekowepillows.com. Look at their pillows. You choose the fabric, then the size. They have a fabulous selection that would suit your colors: blue, gray, cream, black. I would definitely go with a modern print something that would compliment the art above the bed. Not just a boring solid color. Dekowe pillows are fabulous!

I’ll check them out! They might be a little out of my price range, but we will see

Tons of possibilities. To narrow it down — what styles do you like? Are you interested in bringing in patterns, color, and/or texture, or are you wanting to stay with a more monochromatic and modern look?

    What is your budget?

I would look for a pattern with colors you like but with a lighter background so there is not so much contrast with the quilt.

Not suggesting these exact pillows, just the look:

I’m down for whatever looks good. I could do mono/modern, I could do patterns, I would love recommendations.

I like threads like this because the room is a nice, blank slate and everyone can bring in their own preferences and styles as suggestions. It’s fun seeing the variety.

My input is Kilim — patterns, colors, textures. Would bring in a richly layered and interesting look.

    One example:

    (Mock-up not to scale.)

Etsy has pretty much endless Kilim pillows for sale, if it’s a look you like. Many can be custom made.

But I also think monochromatic modern would look great, too. That’s easy — just pick a color you like. :)

I love all the ideas…going with the similar color theme..some options…

Not about color, but on a king bed 36” is a skimpy lumbar. Go 48 inches for a contemporary fit.

That’s cool, I just wasn’t sure how it would look considering I’m putting it in front of two standard size shams which would =54” width. Like said, I will have my two king sleeping pillows in back (white), then the two standard sham pillows in front of them that match my quilt, then I need a throw pillow. You think 48” would be best?

Some color, but I don’t have any reds or anything in the room. Only greys, blues, blacks. It’s a FL home.

Here is a 48" lumbar from Anthropologie if you want to go graphical

called the Anchal Interlock XL if you just want to use the search bar for ease :)

    Lots of great ideas.

I love pillows. Way too much. You don’t even want to know how many I have throughout my house. I collect art and pillows. And lamps. 😄

The only one I’m not a fan of so far is this one:

    Your fav the Anthropologie one?

If you are going to put a pillow there…it should be visible, not just blend in. Otherwise, what is the point! I like the long striped one you posted!
