RTA Recommendation for Kitchen

Hello, considering using Cabinet Joint for my complete kitchen remodel, does anyone have a review of these cabinets or other recommendations for high quality RTA companies?

For goodness sake…do a search. There have been several threads on this topic, just in the past week.

Scherr’s and Barker are way better choices.

I am not planning on installing myself and have gotten a quote of 23k for RTA for a 19 x 13 kitchen with lots of drawers. seems high? Also, this is for inset cabinetry.

@User I choose to go RTA for the savings and I believe the company CabinetJoint specialized in inset. I originally i thought the price would be much higher with a cabinet builder.

RTA is for DIY jobs. Just find a good local custom cabinet company to do it all. 23K is way way low for inset parts, without all the needed stuff added on. Plus the labor. The labor is the biggest % of any remodel job.

I love our Conestoga RTA cabinets from cabinet joint! They look like brand new after five years and we have had zero issues with them. cabinet joint figured out the layout of the cabs and their assembly videos are very helpful.

@mojavemaria those are beautiful! Are they quartersawn oak? if so, what stain?

Thanks! They are quartersawn white oak with a stain called Portabella. it might be a custom stain by Conestoga because I haven't seen it in other stains. Nice to hear someone interested in cabinets that aren't white:)

PLEASE DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY unless you want damaged cabinets and no support!

My cabinets came cracked and damaged. They just left my damaged cabinets on the streets of Manhattan without calling me beforehand. Some of the items are not sized correctly and they do not tell you that.

Cabinet Joint is very badly run and will not offer support if things go wrong. Over half of my cabinets came with damage (See pictures of examples - there are more than 25 cracks on the cabinets) and the customer has to figure this out themselves.

Cabinet Joint is extremely unwilling to help and want to place all the blame on their shipping company. See other reviews who have said the same thing.

My cabinets coach was dismissive, condescending and passive aggressive in handling my situation when the majority of my cabinets arrived damaged. The owners want me to edit my reviews so they can hide my bad experience. Instead, the owner just said that I had "heightened emotions" and told me to edit my review.

Do you really have to necro every single old RTA thread you can find? It’s incredibly annoying. Make one new thread and be done.

I'm very sorry - I did not realize Houzz worked that way and was trying to help people who might have looked at old posts for reviews on Cabinet Joint. I will do that next time - thank you.

Bring completely ignorant of your responsibility as someone who purchases parts and pieces is fully on you. If you can not meet the delivery team, and transport the material into the home, then you need to be hiring a white glove receiver. And never ever buying RTA anything. Because hiring the full service cabinet remodeling company to handle things that you don’t know is where you needed to spend the money. Obviously. You are not really a DIYer if you cant deal with deliveries.

Even though it's said that the responsibility is with the carrier, it appears that whomever packaged the cabinets did a poor job.
