Bathroom Reveal! Microcement, Regrets and Loves, Green and Browns

A guest bath reveal where I changed finishes but not layout. i love the way the green came out, shape of vanity, floors, and shower. Something feels off to me abour the mix of modern and traditional, I’m usually only traditional so it’s a new attempt for me. I think maybe the bin pulls are throwing me off (I had them leftover from another project), or keep those and change mirror to a carved wood more traditional mirror. I also had a really hard time picking two sets of coordinating sconces and wish the ones by the toilet had shades not glass. Love the half glass door that pivots out for kids bath, and water does not leak out!

I still thought I’d post in case anyone is looking for limestone floors, microcement, or just moxing and matching metals in a not typical bathroom.

I dont need to know if you hate it, but if you have simple swaps (not remove the whole counter) or styling suggestions that might make me like it more I’d appreciate it!

I also dislike the white exhaust fan, hoping to spraypaint that something that will blend in with ceiling better.

paint: BM nantucket gray

vanity: custom from etsy NEF designs

plumbing: kohler bath, sigma fixtures in polished nickel

lighting: hudson valley vanity lights and circa toilet lights

towel bar/toilet holder: RH

It looks wonderful, great choices! Beautiful, warm, cozy.

I’m picturing a lovely runner in there. :)

Examples from Rejuvenation. These are all much too long (9ft), but I just wanted to show colors and patterns I think would look nice — for possible inspiration.

Yes the house is on the shoreline of CT and it’s unusual for this area. I just posted my kitchen remodel too where I had to work with the same wood beams . definitely a departure from my last light and bright mostly white house in CA! I’m liking it though so far.

Love the colors ... the ceiling is positively dreamy, though those stark white ceiling vents take away from it ... could they be painted? The ceiling architecture makes it unique. I would've liked a larger mirror over the sink /the sconces mounted on the mirror. I like that last runner ... the one with the deep greens.

I did that in my primary bath! This one I was going for budget, that mirror is 30 x 40 and only a little over $100! I do want to spray paint those vents, I wasn’t around when they were installed and my heart sank when I saw them, a bronze color would have blended in way better

Looks great! I may have missed it- what are the floor tiles, please. Thanks

Thanks! They are limestone from historic devorative materials and they are awesome! They have a minimum order so we used them in my primary bathroom as well. you have to be ok with the rustic look, they are pretty worn but look very antique

    You nailed it! 👏🏻

Can you share more about the microcement? It looks great. Did you go over existing tile or start fresh? Which product did you use?

Thanks! It was done fresh over backerboard. We used topciment. It took a lot more layers and labor than I expected and the plaster specialist who did it underestimated his cost so thay was disappointing. It did turn out nice though and we really wanted the no grout look. I really recommend getting color samples first and also using someone who knows about waterproofing etc. Our person was not experienced as there weren’t a lot of options in our area and that was rough.

Here’s a closer up pic of guest bath and the tun ans splashback of my primary bath tub which we sid a little lighter. i’ll post that bathroom when it’s done!

BeauBeautiful! i love the floor and the idea of a runner.

I’d consider making a frame to finish off the mirror and adding some decor on the vanity. vanity is beautiful. love the wood!

Hi! I love how this turned out. I came here to ask about that glass tilt out. I’ve never seen that. And considering for my kids bathroom. Love the nice open look of glass. Also, so aside from the troubles you had with person underestimating.. ultimately were you happy with micro cement decision?
