The doors look great in the stained finish. The gray trim seems all wrong for the house.

What she posted, a nice muddy olive on all the painted trim to harmonize better with the brick and natural wood. The current bright white is harsh with the brick and the overall style of the house. Of course the photo has been heavily photoshopped so hard to tell exactly.

I was actually hoping to brighten the house or doors.

It's a Craftsman-style home. The whole style is based on Nature's Colors. Earth Colors. A sage green would work instead of the cool gray you currently have.

Why don’t you like the wood stain? I promise is you paint them it will forever be a maintenance issue. The paint will chip.

The doors are fine as is. And Beverly's suggestion for the trim is right on target.

I HIGHLY suggest you start reading up on craftsman style bungalows, which is what you have.

I hope if you have wood trim inside, you're not planning on painting it to look like an HGTV remuddle.
