What a striking light for your dining area! Great choice.

I have had very good luck over the years ordering from online Lamps Plus. I just checked and they had several choices of iron pendants that would complement your dining fixture. (Sorry can’t figure out how to copy and post photos on my phone.) Everything I have bought from them is excellent quality and returns are easy to do. I understand your reaction to the kitchen counter and cabinets but it looks like you have great wood flooring. Although I have my doubts on long-term durability, this might be one time that painting the cabinets would be a good option.

Three 4" led pot lights over the island for 450 lumens at the counter for task lighting.

I too bought a house with a dated kitchen I don't care for. When everything is in good condition it is hard to justify changing everything, so I get where you're coming from. I would paint - that's something you can do to change the look. Getting the yellow out would be a good interim step. Consider a warm white or maybe BM Edgecomb Gray would work. It's as much beige as it is gray. You'll have to sample as it's difficult for us to tell from pictures exactly which color will work. If you like green there is probably a green shade that would work. Cool colors probably won't.

There is a coordinating pendant but it looks like it would be too much for the kitchen.

I think the suggestion of the downlights is the best solution for the area.

Yes think that be too big over kitche island but does compliment well
