Would it be possible to rearrange furniture? Maybe the tv in the corner with the two windows and the sofa across from the fireplace? Your fireplace is beautiful and should be the true focal point in this room. I'm guessing it would be too high to place the tv over the mantle, correct? I think you also need a warmer color on your walls. I would probably add curtain panels over the current shades, with a cornice to cover the existing one. Also, does that chair to the left of the fireplace block a patio door? Maybe that's not an issue?

Thanks for the suggestions. The chair does sit in front of a rarely used patio door. (Access from the kitchen) Would you keep curtains at window height or go higher due to vaulted ceiling that end of the room? Much appreciated.

I would do higher, at least to the ceiling height of the loft/2nd story, but perhaps even higher like to the bottom of the spindles, as indicated by the red lines I added to your photo below. You'll also want to extend the rods so the panels don't cover any of the window when open. Around the fireplace, you don't have equal spacing on either side, so you may have to have the panels drape only to the outside. I would suggest adding some pattern or texture with the curtains, but keep the background similar to the wall/existing shade color. Thanks so much. I love the curtain ideas. Mantle is too high for TV and I do want to keep that space more decorative. I’ll think about room re-arrangement, it makes sense to do that and I have two chairs alike - they might do better to flank the fireplace. Much appreciated.

Would suggest that you search for some inspiration photos first before making decisions.
