We wanted to keep it but building code required insulation in ceiling for space to be used as recreational space.

Pesky inspections!!!

It’s a 2 level barn. Top floor is recreational space. Bottom floor is woodworking space with a separate garage. So we are fine with safety and in compliance with the code. Thanks for your concern.
