This is one of the predatory mites which are used to control spidermite (ambleyseius andersonii) and, I think, ambleyseius californicus is used to predate thrips. While I have used these, and the do have some efficacy against spidermite, they have mainly been developed for use in contained situations such as greenhouses/growrooms. I have no idea how they would perfom in an open garden but ime, predatory insects (ladybirds for example) don't necessarily hang about where we want them to be.
