Sideboard color?

I need to find a sideboard to put under the wall clock. Thinking 60" wide and not more than 18" deep. Feel I need to stay away from black, gray or white to keep from being too cold. Don't want anything with glass in it. The dining table will be stained after getting a sideboard so will need help choosing a color there too. Any other suggestions will be appreciated. :-)

Actually, I'd get a black sideboard and change your rug to something more colorful. Maybe a mostly red kilim rug would be nice. And get some colorful art on the walls, too.

Don't stain your table since the light wood adds warmth and brigthness to the room. Get a console that complements the table. These are from Wayfair:

Think about bringing in an accent color the space, maybe turquoise, via art work, sofa pillows, handmade turquoise bowl for table or peninsula or future console cabinet.

IMO 60" is to short. Consider 72" and above.

You can select something inexpensive from IKEA or you can spend some $$$ on a sideboard. All depends on how much you want to spend.

@beverly deFLADeziner: Love the pale teal with wood one from Ikea. Space needs a bit of color. Plus it's a nice slim one that would set off the existing table.

There is a walk way from the door. So, 18" will be in line with the fireplace? I think that's too deep. What if you put a sideboard behind the loveseat? (Looks like rug, sofa is not centered on the fireplace).
