Aww, the cafe curtain is so great in that space. You don't need more.

Not a good idea imo, you will block outlet, the sink will splash water on it and for some reason (humidity, I think), bathrooms get dustier than other rooms.

What about a cafe curtain mounted on the outside? It would give you more fabric coverage without getting in the way of things.

Since your sink is so close, I think side panels will crowd the space and make it more cluttered, not clean. I would especially be annoyed at how the curtains will be splashed with water and the fact it covers up the outlet.

I agree with others that the cafe curtain looks great, or replace it with an inset shade or blinds to clean up the look.

I had an inset blind in the window for the longest time and found that it was hard to clean from all the hair and bath products. I thought a simple curtain could be tossed in the wash easy enough.
A couple of ideas mentioned here are really appealing- painting the trim the same as the wall, and doing an outside mount of the cafe rod. I think I will do both.

I would simply gather fabric curtain panels on two rods over the windows.

If easier cleaning and a simpler look is your goal, you could put privacy film on the glass and ditch the curtain altogether.

But honestly, as far as a "simple, clean look" I think the current café curtain is perfect. The folds are very tidy. Maybe the only change I'd make is swap out the dark rod for a chrome one that matches your faucet. Or white. The dark one stands out too much.

@SeattleMCM - I just removed privacy film from the glass. I thought it would be a simple solution, and it was, but gave the room a cold feeling. Then my husband said it reminded him of a gas station bathroom, so there you go. It was outta there!
The bronze rod was intended to pick up on the brown in the glass tile backsplash. But I hear you, it might be adding more busyness to the space. Chrome is a logical choice.
