Has anyone painted appliances?

I am thinking specifically of my washer and dryer - which are in my kitchen due to space issues - and I do not want to buy new.
If so - do you have suggestions for success? Pattern ideas? I googled it but was not satisfied with the 3 samples I found - a ladybug, polka dots, and two stencils. Is there a reason why it's not more popular to do?

Appliance epoxies but I recommend you have them done a shop what kind of pattern are you looking for ?

I saw on PInterest that someone had painted their washer/dryer. I don't know what I want...but I was just trying to think of ways to make my washer dryer less ugly without a huge investment.

i know someone who recently painted her old refrigerator with green chalkboard paint. it looks good and it's a handy message center. not sure how will it will hold up but it's easy enough to repaint if needed.
