Quartzite Veining not matching.

Purchased two slabs of Fantasy White Quartzite. Went to stone fabricator and chose section of stone to be used by sink. Knowing there would be a seam, the fabricator said he could pick a section to nicely match veining. The below picture is the result. Does anyone know if this is what I should expect?

It's not bad. Unless the slabs were bookmatch, the odds are that was the best he could do, and again honestly it is not bad.

Where is this seam in relation to the rest of the counter?

Not a fabricator - I'm kinda obsessive with details, so I get why this sticks out to you. But there's probably no way to find a spot on the second slab that exactly lines up. I mean, a seam is a seam.

Some pluses to my untrained eye: It looks like the colors between the slabs match. I don't see a big seam.

Does it bother you when you take a long sip of coffee and step back a foot or two? Or just when you are standing right over it and staring at it?

It doesn't look bad to me. Natural stone is a lot more forgiving, pattern-wise, than some of the quartzes, imho. Obviously, I see the section you're referring to but I don't think it looks bad at all. Enjoy it - the stone is gorgeous.
