IMO 3 and smaller would have been nicer . Yes they need to be lowered a bit and IMO all the bulbs in all the fixture should be LED 4000K since thelight from those pendants seem to be making the counter look yellow

I like the look of 2 pendants rather than 3. I’m just questioning my spacing, not the number of lights.

I think they are positioned fine but agree the shades are too large, a size smaller would look more balanced. I hope the inch or two lower is enough?

Its the size in ratio to the style and ceiling height. I think too often people leave the ceiling height out of the equation also they should only be about 30 inches of the top. Now say you went with a loose look like wicker it might have worked but these are very solid state they also seem industrial looking here. you could move them out the math would be divide the island into 2 so 8 feet / 2= 4 foot and then divide in 2 again and that would be center. so I think maybe you could move them 6 inches out. here is me guessing at 6inches

I would want them down further and further apart, but what really is not working for me is just having two. Usually when you have tow lights there is the great hood or beautiful window framed by the two lights.

I would do three lights and have them be the main attraction.

I would simply lower the hanging height of the pendants.

I worry that if you lower them that the shades would obstruct the vision to the other side of the room.
