You might consider getting a neutral bed such as wood or wicker that was mentioned by Sabrina, then you could paint behind the bed in your favorite blue color. That way you won't be locked in to a certain color and things can be easier to change, ie bedding, lamps, paint, and rugs.

A bit pricey, but just an example:

Oh, my yes! But… There are other options for a navy and white bedroom. Go to the Houzz photos and search for "navy and white bedrooms " for inspiration. Only you know what feel you are going for. Maybe help us out by saying if this is a rental or your own home, and if it is a place you plan to stay a long time, and if this is your room, a guest room or a child's room. 

I like to go big in making the bed the focal point of the room. The bed is big so I like to go equally big with the things around it. I like a floor to ceiling approach instead of just a headboard. Possibilities to consider... Frame your bed with curtains, etageres, and/or lights. Paint that wall a deep cobalt like Sherwin Williams In the Navy. Pair the whole room that color if you dare. I would. Balance that with bright white bedding and touches of bright blue, and lots of good dimmable lighting. Consider you have three options for lighting: table lamps, wall sconces, pendants. Lamps are good for rentals. You can flank your bed with night stands, etageres, book cases, or built-ins turned so shelving is inwards towards the bed instead of outward towards the room. You can frame it with strips of wood trim or drapery panels and paint it dark blue between. You can get a headboard or hang a shelf at headboard height and paint the wall dark blue underneath framing it with wood trim strips floor to ceiling and hanging a large showy mirror (electric candles on the shelf?) or art over the shelf. 

So many possibilities! Help us out also with why you want to replace the current nightstands with different nightstands that are the same color? Just for bigger? Bigger how? More storage? More surface area? Why? That's what made me think maybe this is a primary bedroom for a couple. Do you confirm?

By the way... What's going on with the floor? Is that an area rug over carpet?

Sorry, it's early here. So this is a new build, so you own this. You say the carpet cannot be changed. Well, maybe it would just be dumb to change a brand new carpet, eh?

Of course you can do exactly what you suggested, and maybe that would be just perfect for you. Are you keeping the bedspread? Or are you switching to something else?

So. You have a room suffering..MEH!

You can't change carpet. You can absolutely paint. In a single weekend!!

You have to begin somewhere. The bed is the elephant in the room. What's the feel you want? Look at how stores make up a bed....... the white walls look dead in the room, so find some bedding you love, start with paint. And you may find a world of blues can work, and many that aren't.....navy. Get something to acknowledge that carpet, but diminish it at the same time.

Before making any decisions, look for on line examples and be sure about your navy combination, as it will lean modern if that's the look you want?
