Help finding direction with new exterior color
My 1960s ranch is oreo brown. i really dislike the color and now that it needs to be painted, id like to change the color.
I dont know the exact color, but its very close to BM Rural Earth (LRV of 9.5). (it looks much darker in person than the online swatch)
I told the designer at the BM store that id like something a little lighter and little more gray, and she recommended Woodcliff Lake.
Is this the right direction? would a subtle green or subtle blue-gray work better?
The windows are vinyl clad and i have no interest in trying to paint them.
There is not trim around any of the windows and adding trim isnt in the budget right now.
Any feedback on what direction to look in for a color would be greatly appreciated!

The tree in front has been trimmed slighly since thus picture, but otherwise planning to keep the trees as thry are because they keep the house cool in the summer.
I feel like its a safer choice to pick a darker color.; something lighter than what i currently have but still dark.
The siding is the really wide, machine grooved cedar shingles and Ive never seen them painted loght/bright on other houses that i thought looked right.
@Flo Mangan Your 2nd and 4th photos are what i was initially thinking before i started wondering about a green. or blue.
