You must be ok with etching. We fell in love with marble and couldn’t be dissuaded. Initially you think if you are careful, you can prevent etching. You cannot. The first etch is horrifying. Now, 4 years in our marble has etches everywhere. I still love it and have never regretted getting it for a minute. It’s still beautiful.

My almost 18 year old polished carrara marble. lots of etches and chips no stains. .

The light is perfect right now to see them. You can only see them in certain light.

Sally, it’s it’s honed. I love our marble. Initially I stressed when we had people over, now I honestly don’t even think about it. I think of it as a living surface that just has signs of age and use, just like people 😊

Polished Montclair Danby, 8 years old, etching, some chipping (exacerbated by mitered edges), no stains, heavy use, still beautiful to me.
