My husband and I always struggle trying to find middle ground on design because he likes plain plain jane and I like a little bit of flair. We are deciding on the balusters for the stairs and the indoor balcony on the second floor overlooking the great room on the first floor. I found this image of a railing that we have agreed on, but do you think this is too modern? Also, I can't seem to find an iron tapered pin top baluster like this off the shelf, so I'm still looking. The picture depicts the plans showing the balcony, the exterior architect view, the front door (which was installed yesterday!), the progress photos of the addition and the railing that we were thinking about and trying to find.
