Design Dilemma Lighting

pendant/ chandelier for square island

Back with another post at this helpful community. We have a small kitchen with an square island 4’6 by 5 ft. I am struggling to understand what kind of light would look best over it. With that size I don’t think it would make sense to have two pendant lights—- suggestions please attached is the plan and chandelier I am planning for the dinning room to give you idea of design that I am going for — thanks

Edit: we do not plan to use the breakfast nook and keep it open passage way to the patio. lol

The lighting plan for th kitchen looks lacking, and misplaced, the lights should be much closer to the work surface rather than behind you creating shadows. and if the nook area is a pass through, you might want to change to recessed in there as well. as far as the island goes you may not even "need" pendant light, but one larger would work or two. what is the ceiling height?

The ceiling height is 9ft. I have already requested a total of five can lights and the hook up for pendant/ chandelier is still TBD
