I agree studs could potentially not be straight or twisted. Little odd that diagonal one though. Potentially wall wasn’t exactly flat so lots of things causes drywall to bow in walls when that happens like pipes, braces, blocks, Ducting etc…. Assuming your confident the wall is structurally sound then I suspect the drywall person would say they could float it out. But as you hang stuff on the wall even putting a dresser up against the wall even if they can get the lines to disappear visually now with mud that method falls short unless they are floating the entire wall flat, and at that point why not just start over and get the studs in line then drywall goes on flat and no more issues. That’s how I would process the situation maybe it will help you decide what’s important to you.

The quality of lumber is terrible. Even 35 years ago a good GC would have someone shave down the bowed studs before the drywallers hit the job site. No fixing that issue.

There is a lot of tricks to making a bowed stud flat again, like cutting into the stud and putting in a wedged piece of wood, trimming as you said, and some other ways, but no way to fix it in with the drywall on.

Kind of a double-blunder, poor quality lumber today and carpenters who don't care.

Sheet rock could just be too thin too.
