IMO all too much stuff for the space . Please get doors on the coat closet and please post pics of the hallway here ina comment so we do not have to go back and forth with the vote . My advice take everything out put doors on the bcat closet then see what you actually need in the space , like a place for keys for instance. Is this your only entry for family anf guests? I always think an entry is the introduction to your home so maybe post a pic at least of the LR here in a comment oo. Do not start another post .

Not sure what you mean by closer, we have an entry mudroom and this is our main entrance. I have kids and they need a place to drop off stuff when they come in from school.

What do you mean by LR?

Isabel, LR means living room.

I like the black cabinet (looks like one I’ve seen from Ballard Designs), but I do think just some wall art there would open the space. Looks a little tight to me with the cabinet.

LR = living room.

I do think the cabinet across from the closet narrows the hallway and makes it look visually uncomfortable for me anyway. Not sure how it feels in the space. The ideal thing is having enough room for two or more people to come in be able to close the door fairly easily without having to shuffle too far down the hallway.

Perhaps a tall thin shoe holder, if that is what that cabinet is, or a floor based shoe holder can go in the closet. Closet doors would help to offset visual clutter.

In a smaller space I personally always want fewer pieces of furniture. The eye and the body doesn't like tight places.

I also want necessary items to be not as noticeable. To me it is more restful looking and serenely spacious that way. I know it is harder with kids. It was a necessary thing in our small home to put everything away. It also made cleaning up the floors and etc when everything was already put away. Again it's different for everyone. Just telling you my experience. And good luck on that. ;-)

A nice picture or a mirror would look good across from the closet. Perhaps a catch all basket on a small wall shelf for your keys would work under the mirror or picture.

(I personally prefer to keep my keys and purse away from the front door as I am worried a bit more about theft when it is near the front door. Your experience may vary.)

Remove the brown corbels. They close in the space. Is there any way to wrap the wallpaper around to the cabinet wall? It looks odd on the door wall and not on the side walls

I feel that is the right one for you. It blends with the dark and light wood tones.

The hallway with the cabinet is not tight, me issue is that it does not look that great there.
