Thanks Jan Moyer. The bathroom now has a washer and dryer in it. That will be removed, and the sink will go on that side. A shower and shelves will be on the other side. I love the look of polished nickel, and since this is a guest bath that won’t get too much use, I’m going to use that instead of chrome.

I was unimpressed with the Bancroft line for the price--we ended up returning it. I used Newport Brass Astor for the faucet (similar to the Berea; just cheaper and more readily available at the time) and Grohe Seabury for the shower trim. We did do chrome in part because we were mixing brands and chrome tends to match better, and also because we used polished nickel in our existing bathroom and it is a pain to keep clean. Probably okay for a guest bath but between the upkeep and the added cost, it wasn't worth it for the new one. Did the accents in polished nickel and porcelain and that worked out well--they seem to mix with the chrome with no issue.

I had the Kohler Bancroft installed in my former condo in Chicago. The building was a former brick hospital built at the turn of the century. Regardless, the Bancroft worked extremely well, and it just felt really good to turn the handles. Smooth like butter, loved it.

I like both faucets but I am not a fan of a polished finish. I like a brushed finish. Not my house though.

You only asked about the faucets, so I am being a bossy nosy pants at giving you suggestions for the rest of the room. Anyway, I suggest that you put a radiator cover over your radiator. Hides it and can be used as a shelf for things.

I used to have a 1927-28 home designed by a gentleman who designed mansions in Lake Forest Illinois. It had terrazzo black floors in the bathrooms and the entry way. I like the basket weave tile that you picked out but have you considered other options for the floor? Your tile has a lot of grout, which can be "interesting" to clean in a bathroom. The terrazzo in my old house was poured, and from a bathroom cleaning standpoint with little boys with bad aims, I think that was great. I also loved the look and when I took one of those historical Lake Forest home tours, I saw several homes with poured terrazzo in entry way and bathrooms.

I hate subway tile. Your choice, and it is quite popular. But my house didn't have it and neither did other old homes in the my historical neighborhood. If you like it, then of course that is what you should do. But if you are only doing it because you think that it looks like the period, then you might want to look around more. What about using the basketweave on the walls?

The sinks in my former home looked more like the picture below than the sink that you show above. There was not the exposed metal. Your choice of course. I am just trying to give you historical suggestions. I am not trying to be a meany.

I had a 1920’s house and I think your choices are perfect. The black and white floor is classic for the era and the basketweave pattern is slightly “modern”. Go for the polished finish especially because it’s a guest bathroom and will be easier to care for.

I'm planning to redo my main bathroom. I'm researching Crosswater fixtures and would like to know if anyone has installed their products and how they are performing as well as how the finishes are holding up.
