I like the brick the way it is.

Leave it as is. Once you grind off the hard surface of the brick you are left with a porous interior which will be subject to damage See the image below. The quoins are hardly noticeable.

Your brick home details look pretty good. I love lime wash but I'm not sure I would do that to your home.

What's a lime slurry? There is a limewash or mortar smear. I have never heard of a lime slurry

If you grind these down, you will find gaps and holes in the brick…or worse. Leave them alone. Your home’s brick is beautiful. But if you wish to modify its color, look at these examples, posted above by Beverly. Beautiful!

Did you ever find a solution to removing the quoined corners? The ones on our house are obnoxious.
