How isyour water quality, glass needs to be squeeged after every shower, if this is for kids will they do that? I think a cream colored curtain (xl long and hung high) with thick cream tub rug outside would be the best bet for you.

Consider bypass glass doors to keep all the water inside the tub

Call a custom glass shop, and get by pass glass doors. You don't want a flood of water all over the floor in a kids bath....or kid/guest either.

You're not a fan of the shower curtain? Well. It's a narrow wet space, and a shower CURTAIN best suits it, for a non elbow bumping shower experience.

A fixed glass panel at shower end will look nice but kids will need instructions on how different that makes it, like maybe can’t access controls without getting inside.

It does need to be. I have had shower glass for quite some time and have never once used a squeegee, and I have no coating on my glass. Can you squeegee it, certainly, does it need it, that is a matter of personal preference.

Thank you all. The shower tiles were put about 5 years ago and the floor tiles are new. Walls will be painted soon.

kids are now in college so wanted something less congested for them when they visit.

Definitely bypass shower doors. If you're worried about residue from hard water, have the glass treated with Shower Guard or other coating that resists buildup. I've had mine for 12 years and the glass still looks good. And, no, we don't squeegee at all.

Google “Frameless Bi-Fold Tub Door.” This will show the variety of fixed panel glass doors with a hinge. Since your “children” are now adults, how to use it or how to turn on the shower won’t be issues. And, I am with “millworkman.” Cleaning is your call!

Thank you ptreckel. Now to get everyone used to starting the water by stepping into the tub and changing to shower mode when the temp is right..(that may be the largest change). Worried about half-doors and water drainage.

Problem is you need to access the shower controls, and with the toilet right there this will be difficult with a hinged or stationary piece of glass. One of our lower guest baths is exactly like yours; we thought long and hard about glass, but in the end I decided a nice shower curtain would be best. You can push it aside when the bathroom is not used so you can still see the tile etc. If you 100% want glass, you’ll have to use bypass doors, as suggested. Glass does look nice, but in a guest bathroom it’s harder to keep clean….unless your guests are under strict order to squeegee/dry your doors😉.

I personally put in a glass screen for my bath/ tub combo and really like it. Recommended width is 36"W, but I went to 32"W only for better access to controls and wanted to keep a 36" W opening. I don't feel that there is any more splashing then with a showe curtain and usually a bath matt is used. However depends on the size of whoever will be using the shower or adapt to showering sideways and wiping the glass and floor after each use. I did tile down to the floor as well on the walls so it is fairly waterproof.
