Is this mold? What do you all think?

So I just closed on a condo. And, a contractor tells me these marks on the wall are mold.

Getting other opinions but wanted to see what you all thought.

Can mold grow from the inside of the walls and show up like that in the middle of the wall, spotty?

I know they had a leak from the roof. that was fixed so it's possible that there was water intrusion.

I have tried to wipe with vinegar + water, bleach + water, dish soap. and nada. The stains are still there.

I know it's hard to see but let me know what your thoughts are.

If it's mold underneath there, wiping it down won't do anything productive. You can call in a mold expert and get an opinion, and that's what I would do. Someone's going to need to cut into the drywall and see what's under there, and you ought to find out asap. If it's mold, you need to remediate it.

Cant see very well on your pictures. You can buy a mold detector kit at home depot, for under 10.00. If it detects any mold, then get someone to remove that drywall and get it all cleaned, and have new drywall installed in that area.

I'd put a moisture meter up on different areas of the wall to see if there is water from the leak in other places as well.

Impossible to tell from the pictures. Is this an exterior wall? Is there a water source on the other side of the wall--like a shower? Or plumbing to an upstairs bathroom?
