We will have some spring weather tomorrow. You are a day ahead of us. But looking long term, after a warm up the rest of the week, it may be winterish again next week.

The daffodils really took a hit with all the frigid nights. Oddly enough my tulips are starting to bloom; I thought they wouldn't. My Grape Hyacinths act like nothing happened and look great.

I'm surprised your daffs were hurt. That Siberian cold spell we all had to partake in earlier made my pansies freeze and, I thought die. Almost all of them are back to blooming now and the shot of color is heartening. I am glad the tulips are up for you. they are always so pretty. We are supposed to be freeze free for the rest of March but usually have a shorter very cold spell sometime in the early part of April. Today I will spend some time in ht egarden and I am looking forward to it. I bought a few perennial plants last fall and the three that I potted all survived and are putting up their happy growth. I count it a win that the cold didn't kill them.

I was surprised most of my daffs made it through. it was 19 degrees one night. I know one year it was not that cold and took them out. But we had a bit of a breeze so that probably helped. Windy out today, but warm and sunny! I will get out and do a bit in the yard today. I can't tell if my peony buds survived. I covered the budded ones, but the wind kept blowing their cover off. Look fine right now, but I have thought that before. Happy Spring!

One day its cold next we are in the 60s/70's. Daffs are blooming, tulips have the flower buds starting to show, crocus still blooming and the daylilies are coming up faster now. Its been raining all day and iexpected into tomorrow. I've got lots of perennial plants coming in the coming weeks. I like to have lots of mixes in the gardens and then I still have my veggie garden plants to look for. I do have large neck garlic growing that I planted last fall and they are doing great so far. Many trees in the area are in full bloom already.
