memory quilt question

When I make quilts using knit clothes I use iron on interfacing to stabilize them. But I've been asked to make a strip quilt using baby clothes and was hoping to make it easy and sew the strips to a foundation of muslin. Does that sound reasonable? Anyone have pros or cons?

I think that would work fine, but I am a fusible gal myself, so I prefer the iron on interfacing when using garments in quilts.

Can you do a couple of samples and decide which works for you?

Theresa, I have some tee shirt pieces and think I'll do a couple of blocks as a trial.
