First tip? Do not make a U of that sectional. Just do not. (Buy a couple accent chairs ) It will limit any cocktail table to a veritable postage stamp.

Nobody can select this for you. I probably would have USED that big blank wall for the tv, the other for art, and configured seating that way. Can't tell, as you have no dimensions to the entire space.

Thank you for your comment and suggestions. Actually if use the big wall for the TV the back of sofa or the back of the people will be opposite of the entrance and this is not preferable for us. In the other hand the accent chairs as you kindly suggested and as decoration is very nice option but as setting option is not that comfortable like sofa so, we prefer sofa which we may lay down on it while we are relaxing and seeing TV. Thanks again. In other hand if we would like to add dining tables with 6 chairs where do you suggest to put it. Knowing the total space is 337.

Art is such a personal decision. It ought to reflect you, your personality, how you live your life, not mass produced whatever at the decor stores. A series of black and whites with the same matts and frames could be awesome. You choose the subjects. ( Please turn the coffee table)

IMHO when you have a big blank wall space that calls for big art. A grouping os smaller artwork generally just doesn't provide the impact that larger size art does.

I’d suggest floating the sofa off that back wall. It’s way too far away and creates unbalance in the room. Once you get the sofa positioned correctly then figure out side chairs. Art is fine on that wall but I’d get the arrangement corrected first.

And when you do float it off that wall (and turn the coffee table like Arcy suggested- it needs to be about 18”-24” max away from the sofa)….then you’ll be able to have a sofa table and/or walking room there to operate the drapery.

And the rug can be centered in that space when you do this move.

I’d chat with your heating & a/c folks to see if you can reposition those heating elements. If it were mine, I’d look at some board & batten options for the far wall & incorporate some sconces in that wall. I’m with you as far as the U shape sectional. Build the room for your comfort and use. You can always add side chairs for company. Because I’ve downsized, I’ve bought two comfy arm chairs for dining & pull them over when I need extra seating. It’s a lovely room. You’re wise to ask for comments before you continue. Good luck! Have fun!

Agree with thinkd- bring the furniture closer together onto the rug. For the wall, you can do a collection of artwork, different sizes and shapes. Or you could apply beautiful wall paper with a big design so you have what’s called an accent wall. Or have a shelf unit with objects you like and books.

I am a big fan of sectionals. especially for watching TV.

i agree that your sofa is a bit far from the tv, but i see the tv is massive, so maybe it works for your comfort.

two suggestions - if the sofa/tv distance is for comfortable viewing, then bring the coffee table closer to the sofa and turn it so it is oriented with the sofa. put the bench under the tv. add a wonderful big piece of art centered on the big wall.

or, bring the sofa and rug to mid room. arrange the coffee table so it serves the sofa. in the empty space behind the sofa, add a separate ”room.” either a game table, or a reading and chatting area with two comfy chairs and an end table. add two piecec of art, one in ” the tv room” section and onein ”the game room” section.
