solid wood doors transform old solid doors or buy new solid doors?

We are going to start renovations in our kitchen and laundry room. Two doorways we want to change to French doors. One doorway is currently a solid paneled butler door, which we want to make into a 15 lite French butler door. (Reusing the old butler hardware mechanisms.)
The other doorway is currently a solid paneled door that we want to change to a frosted 15 lite pocket french door.
We have many old solid paneled doors stored in our attic.
We are trying to decide whether we have our old paneled doors transformed into the 2 French doors by a carpenter or handyman. Or whether we should just buy new solid wood 15 lite french doors?
It the cost too outrageous to have the doors changed into french doors?
