I have no experience with the product but checked it out and seems to be fine to go over paint .Waht was the reason for this and not paint?

If your previous stain was fully opaque you might be able to see the difference between paint or stain on wood unless the paint is peeling off.

Seems like the right product.

It would help a little knowing what's on there now, & what material the siding is. If there's PAINT there now, a solid stain is somewhat of a step down. Paint will wear better in the long run.

Unless I had grained/real wood siding, I would definitely paint it. Stained WOOD homes look nice, BUT..... moderately more maintenance.

PAINT is just physically a much better BARRIER to the ravages of weather!

The siding is 60 year old machine grooved cedar shingles; i think its painted because there are a couple spots that are peeling.

I live in central NY, lots of cold and snow in winter so i want to make sure inuse the best product.

In a couple spots it is peeling down to the wood

We got this much snow a few weeks ago, otherwise this was a relatively easy winter
