Didn't see the correct subforum so container subforum it is

Been tinkering with pots past few years. Fabric Pots, Airpots, a few medium/large concrete and clay planters, some nice look double walled plastic pots and finally....some really beautiful fiberglass pots. I knew fiberglass may be brittle but here goes

I bought some nice tall -vase- shaped fiberglass pots last year. Roughly about 2 feet high, painted -sprayed- finish. The 1st con. In repotting what I had planted in there, I suppose due to wet soil medium, etc - the *inside* of the painted pot has crackled and bits have chipped into the potting medium. The outside still looks great except I did notice a crack or 2 on the edge.

I sorta -expected- that paint would be a weak point and would either need refinishing at some point and or the fiberglass would crack at some point.

Anyhow, beautiful pots. Partially due to the material it's made out of and how it can *shaped*

Functionally, meh.

Anybody else that got enticed by the beautiful fiberglass planters only to find it's drawbacks a bit too early in -ownership-

Sofar, my favorite is the double walled plastic. They are heavy as heck due to double wall but I can see how it does insulate the potting medium yearound as well
