There are countless yellow brassicaceae which this could be. Several might be called 'wild mustard' in common parlance. Even an expert would need to see clearer pictures of leaves, seed pods etc to cut down the possibilities.

Actually we need to see close ups of leaves and seed pods, flowers won't help.

any idea what the name of this is ? is it edible, because i have seen sporadic individuals picking it from the fields, some large pastures and fields are covered with these yellow flowers, now,

Canola?

All yellow Brassicacaea are edible. Whether or not they are palatable is a different question. Could well be Canola which often escapes or is left over after harvest. Is that a crop grown locally? But the new pictures are not sufficiently clear to help. Also we still have no images of leaves.
