Subfloor replacement?

Hey All,

Looks like the shower pan was leaking for some time and did some damage to the wood subfloor (2nd floor). the majority of it is relegated to the center which shouldn't be a problem to replace. However, there's a section that looks to be worn away near the door frame, best I can tell, its no larger than 3" by 5". I'd rather avoiding replacing this section since its jammed between sill plates from above and joists below. This would give me the flexibility to cut the flooring out as it lands on the joists about 16" from the wall / door jamb. My question is, would it be okay not replacing this worn area? Perhaps I can strengthen it with some bondo and maybe sister a 2x4 to the joist directly below it?
