Clear and Low Iron are really about it. Do you have hard water? What do you use for cleaning? How long did it go without the squeegeeing? I am assuming you did not buy Shower Guard or any other factory applied surface protectant?

It was about a week. I didn’t feel I could clean it while they were using it. Tell me more about the factory applied surface protectors. I’ve used bathroom cleaners and vinegar and Mr Clean pads.

Should’ve mentioned that you need to be careful if you have natural stone especially marble because it will etch it. It’s great for glass and even toilet bowls.

Showerguard is built into the glass. It's not something you apply. Works great.

Thanks. I was thinking ahead . We are remodeling another bathroom and Im trying to decide how much glass I want . I love the look but it takes so much mantainance. If there were something that could be added to the glass to help keep it clean, I'd be so willing to add it for the next bathroom.

Some people use "Rain-ex" and there are other topical treatments. Some of these are alleged to work but will require periodic reapplication. Showerguard is truly the best.

Mr. clean pads are like fine sandpaper. One week of not cleaning the glass would not result in build up of soap scum. My guess is the glass has been scratched and can’t be fixed.

If you are thinking ahead, absolutely get Showerguard. It is done at the factory and not a coating so the glass is impregnated.

I live in a hard water area and I do NOT squeegee or wipe down when the shower is used. After more than four years, the glass still look pristine. It is wiped down once a week by my cleaning lady and even after neglect during the pandemic when I didn't have cleaning help, it still cleaned up to look pristine with just normal cleaning.

Are Kleenex holders out of style? I hate the colors the boxes come in and want to cover them up.

I would not worry if they are "out of style" or not. If you like them and not the colors of the box, use one. Noone will come arrest you and confiscate the cover, lol.

The trouble is I can’t find any.

Check out thrift stores and estate sales. I prefer the covers, too. The cardboard tissue boxes never coordinate! And I have found several really nice ones, at thrift and estate sales. Be patient.
