If the roof is too dark the house will look top heavy. When you're looking at pictures to try to determine which color you want are you looking at pictures of one story homes with hip roofs? The amount of roof area in proportion to the exterior wall area is important. Your house has a lot of roof visible relative to the size of the house. It would be helpful if we could see a closer up picture of the brick. It looks like the current roof is too brown. So I would lean more gray, but you don't want a cool blue-gray. You want a brown-gray (taupe). If you have chosen a manufacturer for the shingles and post a picture of the sample board you will get more specific advice. Gutters are not meant to be a feature, so they should be as close to the color of the house as you can get so they blend in.

Have you considered painting the brick? If so, the roof and trim possibilities are endless.

Yes paint the brick so you will instantly devalue your home , great idea not.

BTW gutters are not trim and should match the roof usually so they do not stand out. As for trim color to me right now the roof looks red and for sure does not work with the brick I think a lighter shade of taupey/ brown for the roof will help you decide on trim color maybe a nice bronze shade for trim would be nice .Then some more interesting landscaping IMO

I like the blue-gray roof (the person who wrote earlier said don't use this but didn't explain why) and the dark blue-gray color of the sliding door frame for the trim.

Any dark earth tone would work with both the brick and your roof. I'd probably go with a terracotta color.

Lovely home! I agree with your husband...don’t paint the brick. I love gray roofs in many cases, but I think kandrewspa’s suggestion of brown/gray or Beverly’s Weathered Wood would work. Be cautious of roof shingles with too much variegation since it can be too busy with the brick.

Good point from kandrewspa regarding the amount of roof showing vs the rest of the house. A dark roof could pull a lot of focus.

Have the yellow brick cleaned before finalizing trim paint choices. It may be lighter and brighter after cleaning.

Hey guys! Here are the two top roof choices. The roofer uses Owens Corning Oakridge. These are Driftwood and Teak. Teak is the one on the left (darker one) and the Driftwood is the lighter. Thanks everyone!!
