Make the front bed as deep as the brick wall that is by the front door. Don't put plants under the eaves next to the front wall as it will be too dry and no rain will reach them. I like the lines Celery proposed but I don't like mowing so I would have less grass. The curtains in the front room would have a sleeker look in keeping with the house design if they were hemmed to not puddle on the floor.

go to a local nursery and ask them to see native plants for full shade. natives will do the best in your area.

for modern landscapes, I like rows of tidy, all matching plants. an easy look would be decorative grasses with rocks or wood chips in between.

I love Celery’s rendering. I’d like to see some pink pampas grass to complement the front door.

Not knowing where you're located, ferns do well in shade in most areas.

Three ideas: a walkway of rectangular panels (to echo the house's architecture) rather than curves, strongly shaped blue-green plants (complementary color to the pale coral door), a raised gravel platform with a sculpture (rather than plants) silhouetted against the brick? Might eventually replace the grass entirely (with gravel? ground covers?).
