That is the patio? Nothing else being installed?

Assuming there will be pavers or a stamped pad,etc., I would design a set of stairs (1 or 2) that are extra wide and extend all the way to the end corner on the short side, and by the same width past the door on the long wall. With either built in planters, or enough extra room for pots.

Need to know how large the patio area is, but I might create a "landing pad" that extends to the width of the side door all at one level, with steps from that down to the patio - assuming the area is large enough to accommodate.

We had a similar situation, and chose to backfill with gravel so patio would be level with doors. Then add steps down to the yard area, saving the space the stairs would have used on the patio.

I like decks so much better than patios and your situation is alomost crying for a deck again. I think you need steps in very odd places to access the patio what was the reason for that choice ?Who is doing the work for the patio they are the ones to deal with this issue.These are 2 options

Not sure how far apart the doors are but granite landing pads/stairs look great with patios. Maybe one piece could connect the two doors. And maybe leave some soil to plant to the left of the door you don' t use much to soften the area between the house and patio. Then have the step down parallel to the long side of the house.

The patio will connect to the pool deck. Same material.

I think two levels would work best. One level as a landing space that you access from both doors, and then another level (or 2 depending on the steepness of the grade) for the patio.

The second photo that Patricia posted looks exceedingly dangerous--the steps are very shallow--and I would NOT do that.

I would restore a deck that extends from the house to the bumped out room and encompasses both sets of sliding doors. Then, long wide steps down to your patio that meets your pool deck. Two levels, as Diana Bier Interiors suggests, above. A deck AND a patio.

That was the original plan, but the pool builder convinced us otherwise. Now we have a lot of expensive stone and no deck! Have to make steps work.

Just continue steps, in an L design past other door to end of the house.

What material are you using for the patio? You mention stone, so is there any reason you can't construct steps out of the same stone, using a contrast stone for the treads as shown below?

@Dig Doug’s Designs nailed it. Have a “same level” portion that expands to both doors and create steps further away.

Having steps immediately outside a door is an accident waiting to happen. Raise the bed as needed.

span steps same width as all three sections (door and 2 side windows?) but on the lawn side of the deck.

Build the patio up so it is one step down from the doors. Then build a step on the other two sides leading down to grade.
