Long story short, our kitchen is coming together backwards. We replaced the backsplash and the counters, which will stay. We are refacing the cabinets next and would like to replace the floors. Maybe. Currently they are a cheap laminate that are similar in color to the hardwoods in the rooms adjoining the kitchen. We have 3 options:

1. Keep the laminate. They are cheap but we’re used to them and not overly offended by them. It’s free and easy but may look out of place once everything is updated.
2. Replace with hardwood and try to match the original hardwoods in the other rooms. This feels like it may be really difficult, but would likely look the best of it works. But it will be pricey and I am not interested in clearing out the main level so we can refinish the floors in the other rooms. Do they even sell floors in that style anymore?
3. Replace with tile. I really like this dark tile I found (see pic), but my husband thinks our house is too small to make it work. He also isn’t happy about grout upkeep. I could convince him to go with it if the consensus is that it will look good.

Which option do you recommend? Or is there another tile color/style we should look into? Thanks!
