Have you considered Pretty in Pink Eden? I don't grow it but your photos made me think of it.

How large is the flower? Is it thorny? Could be Parade.

Thanks! I live in Chicago. I got this rose a few years ago from a local nursery. It grew too tall for the space where I put it, by the walkway. After being trimmed, it didn't come back this spring, sadly. I went back to the nursery where I got it from and wanted to get the same one to put in a different location. Even they couldn't tell me which rose it is. Thanks a lot for you guys' help!

Oh, sorry I forgot to mention this. I recently bought a pretty in pink Eden climber together with a traditional Eden climber. The pretty in pink came with a few flower buds. They look a little different from my old one but it's hard to tell since the buds are not open yet. I will find out more when they fully bloom which will be soon! I also wonder whether the same rose from different suppliers will look slightly different... I am a newbie in the rose world and there are so much to learn!

I wonder if you have a few choices if the nursery can look in last years inventory to see if they carried it. Ill have to look at som PinP leaves to see if they match. Im tending towards that rose as I dont think a standard nurssery would carry Parade as its an older rose, while PinP Eden is fairly popular these days.

My Parade was put back due to the cold this year, but Ill take a look at its leaves and maybe get a few pics. I would have thought Parade would be hardy in your zone and at least lived if not kept cane. PinP is hardy here also.

Thanks! I will try to ask a different clerk in the rose section next time. That nursery is big with clerks specialized in each section. They also do a lot of custom orders. The rose clerk I asked this year is different from the one from whom I bought it. Hopefully I will bump into the original clerk one day if he is still there.

My PIP, tradition Eden and another rose's leaves are almost identica to my untrained eyesl. I can't tell the difference! .

That rose might have had some disease too. Two of my other roses came back fine after being trimed. The past winter was relative warm here, That rose had survived harsher winters in the past.
