An internet friend says this volunteered in their yard. Here's what they said:

"Would like to get a name for this plant that arrived as a weed. Have one and the lady next door has two. Grows to about 4 foot tall, flowers in Autumn for a couple of months and then I cut the stems off at the base. Flowers attract bees."
