If you don't want to attract bees, don't plant flowering plants. If you have flowering plants it will atract some sort of bees or other pollenators and there isn't much to repel them then. Many people have luck with pelagornium, particulary the citronella scented kind for mosquitoes. Make sure you keep any blooms pinched.

I agree--no flowers means fewer bees AND fewer mosquitos. (Mosquitos are also attracted to flowering plants--their main food source is NOT blood, but flower nectar.)

We need to feed the bees! I plant for borage and other flowers just for them. Why not try and wear an all natural mosquito repelant?

We do need to feed the bees. But not everyone can have bees around them if it can be helped. For folks that can't have bees around them, low or no flowers is usually best for them.

I’m in the one of the top 5 mosquito plagued cities in the US, and trust me when I say there is no plant that will keep them away. I wish.
