We are remodeling two bathrooms to make them age-in-place friendly. I am conflicted trying to pick the toilets and it seems like there hasn't been a lot of recent discussion of toilets, so please chime in!

I am thinking about getting one toilet with an elongated bowl and ADA height and the other toilet with a round bowl and standard height to meet the needs of more sizes of people.

I figure a shallower depth (distance from back of tank to front of bowl) is good to preserve as much space as possible in case we would need to use a walker.

We currently have two 25+ year old Kohlers and they work fine, but it seems that Totos are more highly regarded. However, I am not fond of the way the Totos look (I may have to get over that) and I don't like the Toto seats. I find them uncomfortable (I don't have much padding) and they look like they would be hard to clean. Maybe you all have some alternative seats to recommend?

Otherwise, the Kohler I most like the look of is the Reach, and second is the San Souci.

I read very mixed reviews on American Standards and Gerbers. A lot of plumbers seem to like Gerbers. And then there are other brands that I haven't heard of like Woodbridge, Swiss Madison, Gaba, Deer River, etc.

Thoughts?
