You are going to get varied lengths for sure. At that price, I would expect lots of short boards and one long board per box.

The additional aggravation/cost of installing so many short boards might outweigh getting a different brand with more longer boards.

I just looked at my hallway, and noted that I had four 2-foot boards all in a row. The flooring has been in for over 15 years, and I noticed it today (when I went to look). So it may not even be noticable.

Typically the odds of poor milling of the wood is an issue with the inexpensive products, especially from the likes of a F&D or LL., also the less expensive woods have a higher percentage of shorts. They by from whomever has the "best" price at the time they need flooring.
