If at all possible make the measurements clearer and ideally not metric to get more help here. I think I would start by getting a small sofa and a dining table that can sit 6 when needed but can sit along a wall all the rest of the time. Some nice Ikea stacking chairs put awy in another space or covered and put on the balcony.. How big is the balcony BTW Maybe plan on eating outside in Portugal more often than in. I thnk you have space for a sofa facing the FP so maybe start there .Do you have a picture of the china cabinet ? Do you need a TV in this space ?Most Europeans we know have tiny TVs .

Beautiful apartment!!! A small expandable round or oval pedestal/tulip table in the curved area between fireplace and windows…a curved banquette/bench on the window wall would help with space-saving seating. Tv above hearth to left of the fireplace with sofa opposite. Then your cabinet on the left wall.

Re post the floor plan in very legible feet and inches. Also...... get some lawn chairs. It is already mid June and July looms

There’s not much room for a living room plus a separate dining area so you have to be creative. Have the sofa facing the fireplace and add a small scale occasional chair in front of the curved balcony window. Place the tv beside the fireplace on the extended hearth. Get a rectangular coffee table with scissor-like legs that has the ability to lift up and become table height. I know you can get these type of tables in North America, not sure about Portugal. Place folding chairs around the table when dining.

Long sofa across from the fireplace, the back creating a pathway between the stairs and balcony. Play with chairs once the sofa is placed. No love seat here. No bulky furniture. Sofa with feet, chairs with wood arms.

Find a smart expandable table and comfortable folding chairs that you can bring out for guests. Place between the spiral stairs and alcove. What is that little alcove with the grey triangles?

Thanks for ideas so far! I updated the sketch to add feet & inches. Let me know if that works or if I should try again (any way to remove the original?) I'm working in PowerPoint, so the triangles were what I could manage for doors! That space is the entry from the hall. Here's the cabinet. A TV in this room is not an essential - if we do add one, it will be small. A space for the turntable will be needed though. We can make it work in the cabinet if we drill - it's not so fancy a piece that we need to preserve it.

Oreet - the lifting table is interesting idea. We've only seen the ones that were most suited for a couple watching TV. Would love to see pictures/links for a dining version. So far our thoughts have been focused on a small round or oval, maybe drop leaf

It looks like your hutch might be able to fit on the blank wall near the spiral staircase. You could look at getting apartment sized furniture if needed. Depending on needs for seating you might look at doing a small two seater sofa facing the fireplace floating in the room and maybe placing a chair or two in the arched area to the right of the fireplace.
