I'd be sure to read the installation and user guides to see how hard they are to install and maintain (clean).

IMO down drafts are close to useless so maybe post some pics of your space and explain why you can 't vent properly. As for the actul brands I have no idea since I have no intention of going induction anytime soon

The Elica ENF630BLNikola Tesla Flux 30" induction cooktop includes downdraft built in (specs). Very elegant.

As others have stated, they are not effective. If there's any possible way to have a hood, even a mid range one will do a better job than a downdraft. Having said that, there's no possible way for me to have a hood (20'ceiling with skylights above and 2nd floor open to below, outside wall all glass, more architectural issues). When the electric cooktop goes, induction will be put in and I expect to go with a Best Caturra which rises higher than many to 18". It's even more costly than Bosch and needs a blower. Installation will produce much anxiety and I expect more than $4k with installation for just the downdraft and blower. I'm willing to risk the expense as, at the moment, I think it may be better than other downdrafts. My only solace is that my husband doesn't eat red meat so there's no smoky searing going on. I'm not deceiving myself and know that particulates from food are still a problem.
